Battery replacement for phones, tablets and smartwatches

If the battery drains quickly or the device shuts down unexpectedly, a new battery usually helps. We check in store that the battery really is the cause.

A battery replacement at GoImpulse starts from €39. We quote the price for your model after the diagnosis and before work begins. For most models it takes about 30 minutes while you wait in store, and you pay only after you have agreed.

How to recognise it

  • The battery is flat after just a few hours.
  • The device switches off at 20, 30 or even 50 per cent.
  • The percentage jumps or freezes.
  • The device gets unusually warm while charging or in daily use.
  • The back or screen bulges because the battery is swelling.
  • On an iPhone, battery health shows well below 80 per cent.

What we do

  1. Diagnosis: we test the battery and charging, ruling out software or the charging port.
  2. Price up front: you get a fixed price before we start.
  3. Replacement: a tested, good-quality battery is fitted; original parts on request.
  4. Check: we test charging, the display value and run behaviour.
  5. Payment: only after you agree.

Good to know

Why batteries age

Phones use lithium-ion batteries, which lose capacity slowly with every charge cycle, and faster in heat. According to Apple, batteries up to iPhone 14 are designed to keep 80 per cent of their original capacity after 500 complete charge cycles under ideal conditions, and from iPhone 15 after 1,000 cycles. After that the phone noticeably runs out sooner. A “cycle” means a total of 100 per cent used, not a single plug-in.

Reading battery health

On an iPhone, “Maximum Capacity” is under Settings > Battery > Battery Health. It shows how much of the original capacity remains, not the current charge. As a rule of thumb, below 80 per cent it is worth considering a replacement. Android phones and smartwatches often have no such figure, or a less exact one; there, real-world run time and our test in store count.

A swollen battery: do not wait

If the back bulges or the screen lifts, the battery may be swelling. This is a safety matter. Stop charging, do not press on the bulge, and visit us soon.
