Water damage repair at GoImpulse starts from €99. We examine your device in store and give the price before work begins; you pay only after you agree. We give the duration after the diagnosis. Whether a device can be saved cannot be said beforehand.

How to recognise it

  • The device was in water, a drink or rain.
  • It will not switch on or restarts repeatedly.
  • The screen flickers, shows patches or does not respond.
  • Speaker, microphone or camera seem faulty.
  • The iPhone shows “liquid detected”.
  • Charging fails or cuts out.

What we do

  1. First check: we look for where moisture has got in.
  2. Diagnosis: we test which parts are affected.
  3. Price up front: you get the price and what it covers before we start.
  4. Repair: we replace or repair affected parts.
  5. Test and payment: we test the device; you pay only after you agree.

Good to know

What liquid does inside

Pure water conducts electricity only weakly. The danger comes from dissolved substances such as salt, sugar or acids in seawater, cola or coffee. They stay behind as it dries and corrode contacts. If the device is on, short circuits on the board can also occur. Damage often shows only after days or weeks. Fresh water is generally less harmful than seawater or drinks.

Water resistant is not permanently sealed

Many devices have an IP rating. It applies under laboratory conditions and to fresh water only. Seals age, and after opening or a drop they may stop working. Manufacturers also usually exclude liquid damage from their terms. Do not count on “waterproof” always holding.

Why rice does not help

Rice is a common tip, but Apple advises against it: small grains can get into the port and cause more damage. Hairdryers, compressed air or heat are also poor ideas. Moisture sits beneath shields and components where outside drying barely reaches.
